Freire Charter School Wilmington is expanding by a full grade level next school year and are hiring for the full range of subject areas (exact grade level to be taught ranges between 8th – 12th grade). Please note that current Delaware license and certification in the subject area or enrollment in approved alternate route certification is required for all teaching roles. Drivers Education Teacher
The Director of Curriculum and Instruction is an administrative position responsible for assisting the Co-Head of School, Academics in setting and pushing the vision for instruction in the school. Responsibilities include: mentoring, coaching, and evaluating teaching staff; determining school-wide instructional focus and professional development plan; coordinating academic interventions; scheduling; and much more. At least three years of demonstrated success teaching in urban schools is required.
The Director of Special Education (At Freire called the Director of Student Services) oversees the special education program of the school, supervising all special education teachers, crafting our program, and ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.
The instructional paraprofessional role is a full time position dedicated to supporting individual and small groups of students, particularly those with higher academic needs. The IT coordinator is responsible for keeping all our technology systems up and running as well as pushing forward our uses of technology to do the best by our students. Responsibilities include: maintaining computers, laptops, printers, and projectors throughout the building and maintaining other digital systems including phones, internet, and school information systems.
