There is buzz and excitement in the air as we prepare to open our new campus in Delaware for August 2015, and we can’t wait to share our award-winning Freire education with a new group of eighth and ninth graders (and expanding over the next three years to serve grades 10-12).
But what is a Freire education?
At its core, a Freire education is about making sure every student receives a rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum in an environment that is nurturing to the whole child and safe. Over the past fifteen years, we’ve developed a highly successful curriculum of challenging courses—including AP classes and dual credit opportunities–and we’re proud to graduate college-ready individuals.
Equally important, we know that for students to be successful in their lives we can’t only focus on the academics and must educate the whole person. So at Freire, we make sure to help our students grow in their emotional, social, and civic development in their classes and through a wide variety of projects and extra-curricular activities. Our students are not just learners—they are leaders.
So ask yourself: do you want to go to college, and are you willing to work hard in a safe and supportive place to get there? If the answer is yes, we invite you to join our committed and dynamic community.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions at all—I’d love to hear from you.
