Learning at Freire Wilmington isn’t confined to the classroom—and it doesn’t stop when the school day ends. Field trips and after-school activities are an essential part of learning at Freire Schools.
FIELD TRIPS & COLLEGE VISITS
Field trips help Freire students connect in-class learning to real-life places and experiences while building community with their peers. Students have traveled as far as New York City, Washington D.C., and Baltimore, and have done everything from learning about African American history at the National Museum of African American History and Culture to attending Macbeth at The Ritz Theatre.
Freire students also visit different college campuses each year so that by the time they apply to college, they have a strong idea of the many options available to them.
AFTER-SCHOOL
After school, students can take part in several sports teams, visit our Academic Centers to receive individual tutoring and support from their teachers, or participate in our robust after-school clubs and activities programming. Check out updates on our after-school activities and get more information at studentportal.freirewilmington.org.
