If your application is received before the second Wednesday of January, a lottery will be held if the number of applications exceeds the number of open seats. No. Freire Charter Schools are free public schools, and there is no cost to attend.
Freire Wilmington offers a range of transportation options, including bus routes that travel throughout New Castle County, as well as the option of free DART passes for students.
Freire Wilmington is open to all students who are residents of the state of Delaware. Students must be Delaware residents.

After you apply, you will receive a letter from our Admissions Office within two weeks confirming that we have processed your application. If two weeks have passed and you have not received a letter, please contact the Admissions Coordinator at admissions@freirewilmington.org.
Yes. Siblings of current Freire Wilmington students will receive preference in Freire Wilmington’s admissions process.
